structure. Is located inside the octagonal fiberglass
cover that appears above the water surface.
Description
Converts reciprocating kinetic-mechanical energy from
the motive float into uni-directional rotational kinetic-
mechanical energy using chains and one way clutches to
drive a large flywheel which due to its diameter and the
force of the reciprocating kinetic-mechanical energy
obtained from the waves has enough torque to enable
high speed electric generators to be turned efficiently
after the slow rotational speed in the flywheel has been
increased to run the generators.
This Mermaid Power electric generation is made efficiently possible by exploiting the density property of sea water which is over 800 times more dense than air (as in windmills).
For example: the energy force in a cubic meter of sea water moving 1 meter in 1 second has over 800 times the kinetic energy contained in a cubic meter of air moving 1 meter in 1 second.
