Tidal Compensator

     down pile.​​​​​​​​​​​

Description​​​​​​​​​​​
     Tidal Compensator unit has flotation such that it moves  

     up and down the pile commensurately with the rise and

     fall of the water level due to tidal action.

     The tidal compensator has an underwater platform upon 

     which the point absorber motive float assembly is

     mounted.

     The tidal compensator maintains this platform at
     approximately the same depth below the surface water

     level as this level changes relative to the seabed due to

     tides, in the Georgia Strait the surface water level can
     change up to 16 feet in about 6 hours.
