POINT ABSORBER - BUOY ON SPAR WAVE CONVERTER TYPE

This point absorber system is also known as "Donut on a stick" and consists of a floating structure which absorbs energy from all directions through its movements at/near the water surface. It converts the motion of the float relative to the base, which is a spar pole float and may use a heave plate and / or a 2nd counter acting float, into a useable power form. The power take-off system may be: high speed rotary generator, linear generator, liquid and air pump or turbine.
